Studio Admin Assistant


Reporting to: Studio Manager

Location: East London, United Kingdom

Type: Full-time, on-site in London studio


We are seeking a Studio Admin Assistant for LAYER, a dynamic London-based design studio. The Studio Admin Assistant supports the day-to-day administrative and operational running of LAYER. They assist the Studio Manager and ensure that the studio environment is organised, efficient, and well-maintained, allowing the broader team to focus on creative and client-facing work. This role is essential to the smooth running of the studio and requires attention to detail and a genuine understanding of the importance of administrative tasks.

Studio Operations

  • Help keep the studio tidy, organised, and well-stocked
  • Complete a weekly groceries order
  • Update login information
  • Maintain the storage of equipment and prototypes in the studio

Diary and Meeting Coordination

  • Assist the Studio Manager in managing calendars
  • Answer the door entry system, and greet visitors to the studio
  • Help set up the meeting room for visitors

Administrative Support

  • Receive post (daily checking of mailbox) and send post (via post office)
  • Keep admin records up to date and process correspondence
  • Assist the Studio Manager in coordinating internal and external events

Finance Administration

  • Help reconcile company credit/debit cards and expenses when needed
  • Assist with processing supplier and client invoices

Travel and Logistics

  • Assist in booking travel and accommodation for the team
  • Help coordinate logistics for talks, events, and client meetings
  • Support with packing and shipping prototypes and materials

Communications Support

  • Flag issues on social media to relevant team members
  • Keep contact lists and press information organised
  • Help coordinate photoshoots and studio events

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative role
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and managing your time well
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and in person
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Slack
  • Work well in a team and enjoy helping others
  • Fluency in English
