Administrative Assistant - Membership (Grade C) Fixed Term to 31st August 2027.
Starting Salary £31,116
The EIS is Scotland’s largest and most influential trade union and professional association for teachers and lecturers, with approaching 60,000 members working in all education sectors and at all career levels. With such a large and diverse membership, and as an organisation that is strongly active across many areas of Scottish Education, we rely on high quality administrative support.
We are currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our Membership Department.
The post holder will have the opportunity to undertake a range of tasks across the organisation and will gain experience of all aspects of working within a thriving membership organisation. The main duties include:

- Reception cover (c50%)
- Membership department administration
- Relief cover for certain office management functions, including the servicing of meetings
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- A high standard of communication skills
- Commitment to team working
- Close attention to detail
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office
This is a fixed term, full-time position based in our headquarters in Moray Place, Edinburgh. However, the Institute has a Flexible Working Patterns policy offering all members of staff a high degree of flexibility over the time and location at which work is carried out, subject to the overall requirements of the EIS and its members.
