CIRIA is an independent, not-for-profit, member-based research organization that supports performance improvement across the construction, built environment, and infrastructure sectors. Since 1960, it has provided guidance, research, and information to help organizations enhance project delivery and industry practices. CIRIA collaborates with members from all parts of the supply chain to coordinate collaborative projects, industry networks, and events. Its work focuses on delivering practical, high-quality guidance and resources that address current challenges in construction. Role Description

We’re recruiting for a Part-Time Administrative Assistant to join our Sustainable Land Reuse team to support and help ensure our project activities run smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for a person with strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and confidence communicating with a range of people, as well as the ability to manage a variety of administrative tasks efficiently. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is also required.

The home-based role would suit someone who is interested in working for a not-for-profit organization that supports the construction industry to improve its performance, adopt better environmental practices, and contribute to sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling meetings and managing calendars, including CIRIA’s project steering group meetings typically attended by 10–15 participants.
  • Coordinating meeting arrangements, including circulating information and papers to attendees in advance and completing follow-up administrative tasks after meetings.
  • Communicating with project steering group members and other stakeholders to confirm attendance, request comments and feedback, and follow up on actions as required.
  • Liaising with funding organizations regarding purchase orders, agreement forms, and other relevant documentation.
  • Providing record-keeping support regarding income-generating activities.
  • Regular online meetings to coordinate cross-team activities within CIRIA.
  • Undertaking duties commensurate with the role.
