About Us

Pickle is a business enablement service. We provide fractional, embedded, human-led support across the functions that quietly keep growing businesses moving. EA and executive support, admin, customer support, operations, bookkeeping and HR.

We're not a recruitment agency, a consultancy or a software product. We sit in the gap between all three, and that gap is where the real work happens.

We work alongside founder and operator-led businesses at the moments when they need more capacity, more structure, or more support than they currently have. Our people embed into client businesses and take genuine ownership of the work. No task-ticking, no arm's-length delivery. Just real judgement and follow-through.

What it's like to work here

We value autonomy and accountability. We are human-first in how we treat our clients, our candidates, and each other. We don't chase growth at the expense of quality, and we don't treat people like resources.

We are a small, growing team building something we genuinely believe in, and we are looking for people who want to be part of that.

What We Care About

Good work. Honest relationships. Doing things properly. We use technology and AI intentionally and we never let it replace the human judgement that actually makes the difference. We value calm over chaos, clarity over comfort, and ownership over excuses.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements

This is a support role on a PAYE basis that is built around diary management and administration on behalf of one of Pickle's clients. You will work alongside another Pickle contractor, reporting to an experienced in-house Executive Assistant who leads support for a busy senior team. Between the two of you, you will keep diaries accurate, meetings properly prepared and admin moving, so that nobody has to chase.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Managing and coordinating diaries for several senior people, including multi-party meetings, travel time, prep time and rearranging at short notice
  • Booking meetings properly: the right people, the right length, the right room or link, and the prep in place beforehand
  • Inbox and correspondence support
  • Travel booking and itineraries
  • Expenses, purchase orders, and routine finance admin
  • Document formatting, note taking, and chasing actions to completion
  • Keeping shared trackers, records, and contact lists up to date
  • Sharing the workload sensibly with your fellow Pickle contractor so nothing sits waiting for someone else to pick it up

What we are looking for

  • Genuinely strong diary management.
  • A track record of working well with other people on a shared workload, and the instinct to say "I will pick that up"
  • Accuracy under time pressure, and the habit of checking your own work
  • Direct, clear communication. Short messages, quick answers, no padding
  • Curiosity. You ask the question rather than guessing, and you make the effort to understand how the business runs
  • Confident in Outlook or Google Workspace, and comfortable picking up new tools

Helpful

  • Working knowledge of London geography and how long it really takes to get across the city
  • Experience supporting more than one person at a time
  • Exposure to fast-moving environments

The practical detail

  • This is a zero-hours PAYE engagement with Pickle. It is not self-employed, freelance, umbrella, or limited company work. Tax and National Insurance are deducted at source, and you receive holiday pay and pension enrolment in line with your hours
  • £13 to £14 per hour, depending on experience
  • Remote and UK-based, with occasional travel into central London (if possible, but not essential)
  • You must have the right to work in the UK. We carry out right-to-work checks on every hire before a start date is confirmed
