Blue Diamond Recruitment are working on a new opportunity for a Planning Administrator to join a reputable and growing planning consultancy based North Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within the planning and development sector. Working closely with an experienced team of planning professionals, you will provide essential administrative and technical support across a variety of planning projects while gaining valuable industry experience.
Whether you're a recent graduate with an interest in planning, or an experienced administrator looking for a new challenge, this role offers excellent training, career development and long-term progression.
As a Planning Administrator, you will:
- Assist with planning applications for submission through the Planning Portal.
- Monitor planning applications and consultation responses, keeping the planning team updated throughout the process.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of Local Plan representations.
- Provide administrative support across a range of planning projects.
- Coordinate meetings and assist with project documentation.
- Support the organisation of marketing and networking events.
- Update company systems, procedures and website content.
- Assist with preparing fee proposals, reports and general correspondence.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure all documentation is up to date.
- Provide administrative support to the wider team, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office.

To be considered for this role, ideally you will have:
- Previous experience in an administrative or office-based position.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise your workload.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn.

The following would be advantageous, but not essential:
- Experience working within planning, property, construction or the built environment.
- Knowledge of the UK planning application process.
- Experience using the Planning Portal.
- Previous experience within a local authority planning department or planning consultancy.
- A degree in Planning, Geography or a related discipline.
