A bit about the role
As an Administrative Officer, you’ll be a valued member of our Edinburgh Employability Team based within Castlebrae Business Centre. Your work will ensure the Employability Team receives high-quality, reliable support.
This is a varied and purposeful role where you’ll provide a wide range of administrative support across departments, building strong working relationships with colleagues and external partner agencies.
Your responsibilities will also include collating and updating records on a monthly or quarterly basis, maintaining office supplies and services, raising purchase orders, and following financial processes for invoice payments.
About the Service
Our Employability Service supports young people aged 16–24 who are facing a range of barriers to accessing education, training or employment. We provide a youth-centred, supportive environment where young people can build confidence, develop practical skills and move towards positive, sustainable destinations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
