Salary: £27,000 - £28,000 per annum

The Opportunity

Hill McGlynn are currently working with an established electrical contractor who are looking to appoint an organised and proactive Administrator to join their team. This is a full-time position, working four days per week from the Bromley South office and one day per week from a project site in London. The site-based day will involve working alongside and providing administrative support to a Contracts Manager, with travel expenses covered.

This is a varied role that will suit someone who enjoys working in a busy environment and is comfortable dealing with clients, subcontractors and internal teams. Previous administration experience within the construction industry would be advantageous, although candidates with strong transferable administrative experience will also be considered.

The Role

As Administrator, you will provide day-to-day administrative support across the business while working closely with the Contracts Manager to help coordinate live projects and planned works.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing general administrative support to the office and Contracts Manager.
  • Scheduling subcontractors and coordinating planned works.
  • Liaising with subcontractors to confirm availability, appointments and project requirements.
  • Raising and processing invoices.
  • Liaising with clients regarding works, appointments and general project updates.
  • Maintaining accurate project records, files and documentation.
  • Assisting with diaries, schedules and upcoming works.
  • Supporting the Contracts Manager with project-related administration.
  • Communicating with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Following up on outstanding information and documentation.
  • Updating internal systems and spreadsheets.
  • Assisting with general correspondence, emails and telephone enquiries.
  • Attending a London-based project site approximately one day per week to work alongside the Contracts Manager.
  • Providing wider administrative support to the team as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, reliable and comfortable managing a varied administrative workload.

You Will Ideally Have

  • Previous experience within an administrative or coordination role.
  • Construction administration experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience scheduling works, appointments, contractors or subcontractors would be beneficial.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident telephone and email communication skills.
  • The ability to liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple requirements at the same time.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support different areas of the business.
  • The flexibility to travel to project sites across London one day per week.
