Salary: £21,000 - £24,500

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9- 5:30, Friday, 9 – 4:15

Working Pattern: Hybrid and flexible working available after probationary period

Holiday: 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), increasing with service up to an additional 5 days

The Opportunity

As an Administrator, you'll play a key role in supporting our clients and colleagues, helping to keep our accounts and administrative processes running smoothly. This varied role offers exposure to a wide range of responsibilities, from client communications to workflow management, making it an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a friendly, professional and growing accountancy practice.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Administrator, you'll be responsible for:

  • Chasing clients for accounting records and supporting the smooth progression of accounts work.
  • Managing the accounts finalisation process, including issuing final accounts, updating internal systems and maintaining workflow records.
  • Submitting corporation tax returns and sending corporation tax payment reminders to clients.
  • Preparing bank audit letters, Letters of Representation and other supporting documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate client records, including CRM updates, registered office changes and HMRC Government Gateway administration.
  • Carrying out Land Registry searches and supporting professional clearance requests.
  • Assisting with new and existing client administration, including secure online portal set-up and the closed client process.
  • Returning paper accounting records to clients in a timely manner.
  • Providing reception support, including welcoming visitors, answering and directing calls, handling post, preparing refreshments and maintaining meeting areas.
  • Providing general administrative support to colleagues and fee-earning staff across the business, supporting the day-to-day running of the office.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Maths and English GCSEs (or equivalent).
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • An excellent telephone manner and strong customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and the importance of discretion.
  • A smart and professional appearance.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
