An exciting opportunity has arisen to join COMPASS (Community Palliative Advice and Support Service) as a Band 3 Administrator
This is a rewarding role supporting a specialist community service that helps patients, families and healthcare professionals access timely advice and support.
We're looking for a proactive, organised and motivated administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering an excellent service. You'll be a key member of the team, ensuring clinicians have the administrative support they need to provide high-quality patient care.
What you'll be doing
Responsibilities
As part of the COMPASS team, you'll provide comprehensive administrative support to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing administrative support to clinicians to support patient care.
- Managing referrals, data entry and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Responding to telephone and email enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Liaising with internal and external colleagues to support effective service delivery.
- Organising documents, correspondence and service information.
- Ensuring information is recorded accurately and in line with Trust policies.
- Supporting the collection of activity data and performance information.
- Contributing to service improvements and participating in team meetings.

You'll be someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can prioritise competing demands and remains calm under pressure. You should be able to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance and support.

We're Looking For Someone Who Can Demonstrate
- Previous administrative experience in an office or healthcare environment.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
- The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
- A flexible, positive approach and commitment to teamwork.
- A professional and compassionate approach when dealing with patients, relatives and colleagues.
An NVQ Level 3, Foundation Degree, Diploma or equivalent administrative qualification is desirable.
COMPASS operates 7 days a week between 8:00am and 8:00pm, and this role will participate in a rota to provide administrative cover during these hours. There may also be a requirement to work across different sites to support service delivery.
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff)
High Cost Area Supplement Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, CEME)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
