Administrator (Bank)

York Hospital | Ad hoc | Part time

Salary £12.84 per hour

As an Administrator, you’ll bring experience of administration in a complex fast-paced environment, demonstrable call handling skills and excellent IT skills. You will have the ability to provide a professional, courteous, sensitive, and empathetic approach as well as be an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and flexible individual.

As our Administrator, you will:

  • Provide administrative assistance to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Organise and maintain files and records, both physical and digital.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and correspondence.
  • Input and update data in relevant systems.
  • Respond to enquiries and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
  • Assist with bookings teams
  • Take payments both over the telephone and face to face
  • Liaise with insurance providers to ensure pre-authorisations are obtained
  • Prepare and compile reports, documents, and presentations.
  • Ensure that required documentation is retained in line with GDPR guidelines.

Along the way, you’ll work closely with everyone from consultants, medical secretaries, departmental managers, hospital teams and customers, to deliver an efficient and effective administrative service from start to finish.

Experience

Direct knowledge and experience from within the healthcare sector is a distinct advantage, additionally, knowledge of NHS or private sector. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate self-motivation, resilience and the ability to contribute strongly within a team. Excellent numerical and IT skills are required, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
