Cathedral Appointments are recruiting on behalf of a specialist, customer-focused business for a Temporary Administrator to join its team in Launceston on an immediate basis. The business is busy and this role will provide valuable support to the existing administration function, helping to keep enquiries moving and customers well looked after.
The Role
This is a telephone-based administrative role suited to someone who is confident on the phone, well organised and quick to pick things up. You will shadow the current Administrator, initially handling incoming and outgoing calls and the associated paperwork, with scope to take on further duties as you learn more about the business. It would suit someone who enjoys variety and is happy to get stuck in from day one.
Responsibilities for the Temporary Administrator
- Answering incoming calls, mainly from trade partners, taking clear and accurate messages and passing enquiries to the correct team.
- Making outgoing calls to customers to complete suitability questionnaires and telephone assessments.
- Completing the relevant forms accurately and emailing them to customers for signature.
- Working alongside the current Administrator to learn the role and ease the workload across the team.
- Taking on additional administrative duties as your knowledge of the business grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
