Job Description: Administrative Assistant at Penryn Primary Academy

At Penryn Primary Academy, we pride ourselves on being a vibrant, welcoming, and nurturing community where every child is supported to flourish. As the first point of contact for our school, our administrative team plays a vital role in keeping our academy running smoothly and maintaining our strong connection with parents, carers, and the local community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and adaptable Administrative Assistant to join our busy front-office team. The successful candidate will be required to work 25 hours per week, from 8:30am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only plus two INSET days, on a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Front of House: Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, parents, contractors, and pupils, delivering a warm, professional, and helpful welcome.
  • Attendance Monitoring: Manage daily attendance tracking, follow up on unexplained absences, liaise with parents/carers, and support the school leadership team with attendance reporting.
  • Social Media & Communications: Maintain our school’s social media channels, assist with newsletters, and distribute clear, engaging updates to our school community to celebrate success and keep parents informed.
  • Pool Lettings & Hire: Act as the main contact for external hirers of our school swimming pool, managing bookings, handling enquiries, and ensuring smooth administrative coordination.
  • General Office Support: Provide core administrative support, maintain accurate records using our school management systems, and handle incoming calls and correspondence.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
