About the Service
Tower House is a 24-hour supported housing service based in Chester. We support people experiencing mental health difficulties to manage their accommodation and work towards independent living and greater involvement in their local community.
About the Role
We’re looking for an organised and reliable Administrator to join our team at Tower House on a part-time basis.
Working closely with the Service Manager and wider team, you’ll play an important role in keeping the service running smoothly by providing high-quality administrative and financial support.
This is a varied role covering everything from maintaining financial records, processing invoices and managing client funds to responding to enquiries, maintaining service records, coordinating meetings and supporting the day-to-day administration of the service.

You’ll have contact with colleagues, residents, prospective residents and external agencies, so you’ll need to be approachable, professional and confident communicating with a wide range of people.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain accurate financial records, including petty cash, client funds and other financial transactions.
- Process invoices, funding claims, staff expenses and other financial information accurately and on time.
- Support the Service Manager with financial returns, expenditure information and budget preparation.
- Liaise with Finance, benefit agencies, suppliers and other organisations as required.
- Maintain effective filing, diary, holiday and other administrative systems.
- Respond professionally to telephone enquiries from external agencies, prospective residents and others contacting the service.
- Provide general administrative support, including correspondence, reports and word processing.
- Take and distribute minutes and help coordinate staff and service meetings.
- Support the administration involved when residents join or leave the service, ensuring relevant documentation is completed.
- Order office, cleaning and first-aid supplies while ensuring value for money.
- Handle confidential information appropriately and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:
- At least 12 months' administrative and/or secretarial experience.
- Experience of maintaining and reviewing office systems and procedures.
- Experience of completing financial records or returns.
- Experience of attending meetings and producing accurate minutes.
- Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office.
- Strong keyboard and general administrative skills.
- Good numeracy skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload and work effectively under pressure.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people.
- Reception experience and an understanding of welfare benefits systems would be advantageous.
