Role Overview

This post is based within Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust Infected Blood Psychological Service (IBPS) hosted by the Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre. The service provides multidisciplinary care for those infected and affected by the contaminated blood products by:

• Conducting outreach and psychosocial assessments led by a navigator.
• Providing psychological therapies by a team of psychological professionals.

Role Purpose

Patient administration underpins the patient journey, supporting clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. Effective and efficient patient administration supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support to beneficiaries of the service.
• Provide full secretarial and administrative services to the clinical team.
• Manage lists and clinics, ensuring that all patients are seen within the required time scales and in accordance with NHS England targets and Trust policies.
• Close liaison with the Centre receptionists in order to maintain the smooth running of outpatient clinics and to keep the department informed of any known changes to forthcoming clinics. When requested, organise and set up extra clinics and liaise closely with clinic staff and patients.
• Undertake general administrative duties including filing, typing, photocopying, scanning, arrangement of meetings, taking minutes and dealing with general communication.
• Develop and maintain joint working and close cooperation with internal and external staff groups, providing the clinical/operational services needed to maintain a complete and seamless service to patients.
• Collect and report on key performance indicators of the service, ensuring that it meets the targets set out by NHS England.
