Artis HR are supporting a well-established organisation in Newton Abbot with the appointment of an Administrator on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for this to be extended.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong general administration experience who is looking to join a busy team and gain valuable exposure to HR and people processes.

You don't need previous HR experience for this role. What's most important is that you're organised, detail-focused, confident using systems and comfortable dealing with people across a business.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the team with a range of day-to-day administration
  • Processing new starters and leavers and ensuring paperwork is completed
  • Checking documentation and maintaining accurate records
  • Updating systems and employee records
  • Keeping training and other records up to date
  • Coordinating appointments and other employee processes
  • Sending communications and following up with managers where needed
  • Processing references and other administrative requests
  • Answering queries and directing them to the right person
  • Supporting with general admin and ad-hoc projects

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a general administration or office-based role
  • Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicating with people at all levels
  • Comfortable handling confidential information
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage your own workload
  • HR experience would be a bonus, but is not essential
