Job Title
Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare or working on the Staff Bank within these organisations. Nursing and AHP vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses/AHPs.
Are you an organised, proactive administrator with a passion for excellent customer service? We are looking for a Medical Secretary to join our Clinical Assessment Service, supporting clinicians to deliver high-quality patient care. This varied and rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by providing a professional, responsive and efficient service to patients, colleagues and healthcare partners.
Based in Medway, you will manage a range of administrative tasks, including processing clinical correspondence, maintaining patient records and databases, supporting clinic administration and responding to enquiries from patients, clinicians and external healthcare providers. You will review and amend clinical letters generated through our digital dictation system, ensuring they are accurate and ready for distribution. You will also support referrals, imaging requests, MDT outcomes and patient information management, helping services run smoothly and efficiently.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, can prioritise competing demands and deliver excellent customer service.

About the Role
We're looking for a highly organised and motivated individual with excellent communication and administrative skills. You'll have experience producing professional correspondence, be confident using Microsoft Office applications and have strong attention to detail. The ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and support a busy team is essential.
You'll provide a professional, friendly and efficient service to patients, clinicians, booking teams and external organisations. You'll confidently manage email and phone enquiries, resolve issues promptly and escalate where required. Strong organisational skills will enable you to maintain databases, coordinate referrals, support clinic administration and ensure actions are completed within required timescales.
You'll be adaptable, reliable and committed to continuous improvement. In return, you'll join a supportive team where your skills and commitment to excellent customer service will make a meaningful contribution to patient care.

About Us
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is due to integrate with Medway Community Healthcare on 1 October 2026.
