We are recruiting for a range of opportunities within our Manchester hub, including:
- Shared Services Administrator
- Helpdesk Customer Advisor
- Executive Services Assistant
- Recruitment Administrator
These roles sit within Business Services, part of Route Services at Network Rail. Shared Services brings together specialist teams that provide essential support across our people, processes and operations. From payroll and recruitment to customer support, financial services and business administration, our work helps the wider organisation operate effectively.
Depending On The Role, You Could Be:
- Providing high-quality administrative and operational support to central and national teams
- Responding to customer and stakeholder queries professionally and promptly
- Maintaining accurate records, systems and data
- Supporting projects, process changes and service improvements
- Working collaboratively to achieve service level agreements
- Handling confidential information in accordance with policies and procedures
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and the customer experience

Pay and Rewards
We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive package designed to support your wellbeing, lifestyle and future:
- Salary: £25,409 per annum
- Hours: 35 hours per week, full time
- Contract: Permanent and fixed-term opportunities are available. We welcome applications from candidates who are happy to be considered for either
- Working pattern: Hybrid working, with employees expected to work from a Network Rail location for 60% of their weekly hours, typically three days per week for a full-time role

Your Experience And Skills
You do not need to have worked in the rail industry to make an impact in Shared Services. We are looking for people who can bring strong customer service, dependable administration and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
To succeed in one of these roles, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A customer-focused and professional approach
- The ability to produce precise and accurate work
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment
- Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- A commitment to confidentiality and following agreed processes
- The ability to work effectively in a high-volume processing environment

What could set you apart
While not essential for every opportunity, your application could stand out if you can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in administration, customer service, shared services or another high-volume operational environment
- Experience resolving customer or stakeholder queries at the first point of contact
- Confidence working with sensitive or confidential information
- Experience maintaining accurate records across multiple systems
- An understanding of service level agreements and performance measures
- Examples of identifying or supporting a process improvement
- The ability to adapt quickly when priorities, processes or customer requirements change
- A positive, proactive approach and a genuine interest in delivering a great customer experience
