Warwickshire County Council is excited to be recruiting for our School Admissions Service.
School Admissions ensures every child has fair access to education and every family receives clear, timely support. Each year, Warwickshire County Council manages over 25,000 school applications, oversees admission appeals, and administers the 11+ grammar school entrance tests. The service also responds to around 40,000 enquiries annually, offering trusted advice and connecting families with wider support services to secure the best outcomes for children across Warwickshire.

School Admissions – ‘Admissions Advisor’

The primary responsibility of the role is to act as a first point of contact for the School Admissions Service, responding to a high volume of incoming telephone calls. This includes providing accurate information and guidance to parents and carers on admissions processes, timescales, and eligibility. The role also provides essential support to School Admissions Officers by managing and responding to email enquiries, ensuring queries are resolved efficiently and in line with statutory guidance and local policy.

Requirements
- Demonstrable resilience and emotional maturity, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and when dealing with parents & carers
- Confidence to manage difficult conversations, including the ability to de-escalate confrontational situations effectively and sensitively.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with a wide range of people in emotionally charged situations
Position Details
- Position is full-time (37 hours per week)
- We work in an agile way, supporting hybrid working, office attendance at Shire Hall, Warwick is required on a Tuesday / Thursday

Additional Information
The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
