Our working environment could not be more different from your usual setting – where else could you stroll among rare giraffes and tigers on your lunch break?

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for friendly, confident and passionate individuals to join our busy Admissions team and support us in our delivery of a world-class visitor experience.

An Admissions Assistant is often the first person our visitors come into contact with at Chester Zoo; whether that be on the day at our Admission Lanes and Ticket Sales windows or via email enquiries and phone calls before a visit. Our Admissions Assistants are also involved in the sale and delivery of commercial products and services. This role includes evening work throughout the year for Zoo events as well as some cleaning duties.

What makes Chester Zoo a great place to work?

As the UK’s biggest and best zoo, we have ambitious goals, exciting plans, and there’s always lots going on here. We’re an inclusive and diverse organisation, made up of nearly 500 permanent and 500 temporary team members, and we know how important it is to invest in our colleagues to help boost their career development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
