Admissions Assistant - Faculty of Science and Engineering

The Faculty of Science and Engineering seeks to appoint a full-time Admissions Assistant on a permanent basis. The role is to support our student admissions processes and ensure that our applicants and offer-holders have an excellent introduction to the University.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to be part of our admissions team supporting our applicants, working collaboratively in accordance with good customer service principles. Alongside processing applications and acting as a first point of contact for queries, you will also support open days and visit days (either on-campus or virtual), interviews, and confirmation and clearing activities throughout August.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for clerical and administrative activities associated with admissions and conversion as directed by the admissions Coordinator.
  • Act as the first point of contact for admissions enquiries and provide information, advice, and guidance on routine matters, knowing when to escalate to others as appropriate.
  • Make standard admissions decisions and process course applications in line with specified criteria, including invitation to interview.
  • Assist and participate in the delivery of open days, interview days, confirmation and clearing activities, post-offer conversion activities, and admissions networks.
  • Work flexibly as required across the University, supporting the delivery of University and local priorities, operating at all times as a single team across the University.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
