Admissions, Marketing and Communications Officer
We are looking for an organised, approachable and creative Admissions, Marketing and Communications Officer to provide an excellent experience for prospective and current families. You will manage the day-to-day admissions journey, coordinate clear parent communications and maintain accurate pupil information through Compass.
You will also deliver the school's practical marketing activity across social media, online channels, education publications and physical advertising, including billboards, banners and open-morning promotion. This is a varied, hands-on role within a small independent school, requiring initiative, accuracy and a willingness to support the wider team.
Key responsibilities
- Manage admissions from initial enquiry through to enrolment, including follow-ups, tours, taster days, applications, offers and joining information.
- Provide a warm, professional and responsive service to prospective families and maintain an accurate admissions pipeline.
- Produce the weekly school newsletter and coordinate timely, accurate communications with current parents.
- Plan, create and publish engaging content for the school website, social media and other online channels.
- Coordinate agreed advertising and promotional activity through education publications, local media, billboards, banners and open-morning campaigns.
- Support open mornings and other recruitment events, including promotional materials, parent communications and follow-up activity.
- Act as the day-to-day lead for Compass MIS, maintaining accurate pupil and family data, admissions records, annual rollover processes, reports and templates.
- Maintain pupil records and permissions, ensuring communications and published content comply with data-protection and safeguarding requirements.
- Manage school uniform stock, supplier orders, sales and pupil fittings, including agreed summer-holiday fitting dates.
- Provide reception, administrative and wider school support when reasonably required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
