Company Description

Nelson College London is an independent higher education institution founded in 2009 in the London Borough of Redbridge, with campuses in Ilford and Gants Hill.

The College offers Pearson Higher National Diplomas in Business and Hospitality Management, as well as Foundation Degrees and one-year BA (Hons) top-up courses validated by University of West London (UWL).

Job Description

This is a full-time, on-site Admissions Officer role based in the Broadstairs Campus.

The Admissions Officer will manage the end-to-end admissions process, including responding to enquiries, guiding prospective students through application requirements, and assessing documentation for eligibility and compliance. The role involves coordinating interviews, maintaining accurate applicant records, and ensuring timely communication with applicants, academic staff, and external partners.

The Admissions Officer will provide high-quality customer service to prospective and current students, support outreach and recruitment activities, and contribute to continuous improvement of admissions procedures in line with institutional policies and regulatory standards. The position may also include participation in open days, information sessions, and collaborative work with colleagues to promote Nelson College London’s programs.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service skills to effectively support and guide prospective and current students.

Candidates should possess solid Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.

Candidates should possess experience or understanding in International Admissions and Education, preferably within higher education or a similar regulated environment.

Candidates should possess good organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in handling applications and records.

Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, administration, or a related field are beneficial.

Familiarity with admissions or student information systems, data protection requirements, and UK higher education regulations is an advantage.

Ability to work collaboratively on-site in Broadstairs, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to an inclusive and respectful working environment.
