Admissions is often the first real experience a future student has of Wigan & Leigh College. We’re looking for an Admissions Team Leader to make sure that experience is clear, supportive and well organised.

About the Role

You’ll lead the team supporting future students from their first enquiry through to enrolment. You’ll keep applications moving, coordinate interviews and work with curriculum and support teams so applicants receive timely decisions, clear information and the right support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use systems and data to identify delays, improve processes, and make the experience more consistent for future students and their families.
  • Bring calm, structure, and pace to help your team manage competing priorities during peak admissions and enrolment periods.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Experience of supervising or coordinating others in admissions, student services, learner support, customer service, or another busy operational environment.
  • Organised, supportive, and confident handling sensitive or complex issues.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
  • Experience of supporting people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including an understanding of EHCPs and reasonable adjustments.

What We Offer

  • The role is available full-time or part-time at a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • You’ll need to work on site five days a week to lead and support the service.
