At Parkway Health & Rehabilitation Center, every member of our team plays an important role in creating a safe, supportive environment for the residents we serve. As an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON – RN), you'll help lead our nursing team, strengthen clinical practice, develop employees, and help ensure residents receive consistent, compassionate care. Parkway Health & Rehabilitation Center is a 141-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community in Boston, Massachusetts, providing Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care. Our specialized programs support residents recovering from illness, injury, or surgery, as well as those who require ongoing skilled nursing care.

Our interdisciplinary team works together to provide personalized care through rehabilitation therapies, nursing services, and clinical support, with a shared focus on helping residents achieve their highest level of independence, comfort, and quality of life. As ADON, you'll work closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to advance clinical priorities, support nursing employees, maintain survey readiness, and uphold regulatory standards. You'll have meaningful responsibility within the facility while also having access to an experienced network of clinical leaders and resources across the Elderwood organization.

Your work will have a direct impact on both residents and the team members who care for them every day. Whether you're coaching a nurse, reinforcing clinical best practices, helping navigate a complex resident-care concern, supporting a quality initiative, or partnering with nursing leadership on department priorities, you'll play an important role in strengthening clinical care and the resident experience. If you're an experienced RN who is organized, collaborative, accountable, and ready to take the next step in nursing leadership, this is an opportunity to join a team where your clinical expertise and leadership can make a meaningful difference.

Why Join Our Team?

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Lead With Support Behind You

At Elderwood, facility nursing leaders are accountable for clinical performance—but they are not expected to lead in isolation.

Our facility clinical teams receive support from Elderwood Administrative Services, including organization-wide clinical leadership from the Chief Nursing Officer and an assigned Regional Nurse Consultant who serves as a consistent resource to facility leaders. The Regional Nurse Consultant partners with the Director of Nursing, ADON, Administrator, and clinical team to provide guidance, share best practices, help navigate complex challenges, and support priorities related to quality, regulatory readiness, clinical operations, and nursing leadership development. This structure gives you the opportunity to lead locally at Parkway Health & Rehabilitation Center while benefiting from the experience, perspective, and resources of a larger clinical organization.

Build the Next Stage of Your Nursing Leadership Career

Elderwood is committed to identifying and developing the next generation of clinical leaders. Nurses who demonstrate strong performance, leadership potential, and an interest in future Director of Nursing opportunities may be considered for advanced development experiences, including Widener University's Director of Nursing Leadership Academy.

Designed for current and aspiring DONs, the 12-week academy combines online learning, leadership coaching, faculty mentorship, and in-person applied workshops. Its curriculum addresses the practical demands of nursing leadership, including communication, decision-making, team development, retention, financial fundamentals, strategic planning, and change management.
