Clinical Lead - Adult Audiology Service
As a Clinical Lead you will be responsible for the oversight of a high-quality Adult Audiology Service, ensuring that our service users' needs are fully met.
You will provide clinical and advanced audiological, vestibular assessment, and aural rehabilitation services. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Audiology Service and to deputise for the Head of Service. The role involves supervision, mentoring, and training of junior staff and students. The post holder will work with the other clinical lead to ensure that clinical and professional standards are maintained at all times and must maintain continuous personal professional development while working towards higher levels of professional competence.
The role will include additional responsibilities such as acting as the STP training officer and IQIPS lead.
- To provide aural rehabilitation for adults, which includes providing counselling to distressed patients about their hearing loss and associated problems, and to have the ability to make decisions about the most appropriate course of treatment for the patients in their care.
- To lead on the Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) accreditation process.
- To be responsible for monitoring the continued professional development for all staff within the Audiology Service.
- To be responsible for the clinical supervision of all audiologists.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Audiology Service.
- To carry out general duties and maintain a programme of continuing professional development working towards high levels of professional competence.
- To deputise for the Head of Service.
- To line manage all senior staff bands 6-7.
