Job Title: Adult Care Assessor (Full-Time, In-Office)

Organisation: London College of Professional Studies (LCPS)

Location: In-office (UK)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Care Assessor to join our academic team on a full-time, in-office basis. You will be responsible for assessing learners enrolled on Adult Care qualifications, ensuring assessment decisions are valid, reliable, and in line with awarding body standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess learner work against assessment criteria for Adult Care qualifications
  • Provide clear, constructive, and developmental feedback
  • Ensure all assessment decisions meet awarding body requirements
  • Support learners through their qualification journey
  • Conduct internal quality checks where required
  • Maintain accurate assessment records
  • Work closely with the internal quality assurance and academic teams
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality and diversity, data protection, and professional standards

Requirements

  • Hold a recognised Assessor qualification (such as CAVA, A1, or equivalent)
  • Relevant experience in adult care or health and social care
  • Good understanding of vocational qualifications
  • Experience in assessing learner work and providing clear written feedback
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to manage workloads and deadlines effectively
  • Availability to work full-time in the office, Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience assessing qualifications awarded by bodies such as TQUK, OTHM, or Qualifi
  • Previous experience working within a vocational or further education college
  • Familiarity with IQA processes and compliance requirements
