12 months Fixed term
We are seeking an experienced clinical nurse specialist to join NELFT well-established team. The role is fixed term for 12 months to provide maternity leave cover. This role supports the delivery of high-quality patient care to adults with an eating disorder and requiring intensive support to aid recovery and reduce the need for specialist eating disorder unit admission. The post holder will work closely with MDT colleagues to ensure services run smoothly and efficiently.
Main Duties of the Job
- Deliver day-to-day specialist care to adults with an eating disorder.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Trust policies.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
This fixed term, maternity cover, post is a great opportunity to work with adults as part of the well-established and innovative Lifespan Eating Disorder Service in North East London NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our highly skilled, dedicated, and friendly team to work primarily with adults in the intensive community treatment pathway.
We are seeking an individual who has an interest in working in eating disorders and is passionate about delivering good quality, patient-led care.
The successful applicant will work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver NICE concordant interventions for adults with eating disorders and comorbid presentations. We will support candidates to develop skills in delivering evidence-based treatment. In addition, our team has pioneered the integration of Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) for eating disorders within the UK. The post holder will be actively involved in assessing and managing clinical risk associated with eating disorders, including performing and interpreting specific investigations, such as blood pressure and ECGs. Further training will be provided as required, including training in phlebotomy.

Starting with NELFT (delete for internal only)
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.

This post will be subject to a probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering, and Waltham Forest, CEME)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part-time).
