Adult Learning Training Manager (Care Sector)
Pay: £38,000–£40,000 per year, depending on experience
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Work location: Remote, with travel across the UK as required
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Adult Learning Training Manager to lead the delivery of our Adult Skills Fund, Free Courses for Jobs and commercial Care Sector programmes.
You’ll manage and develop a team of Skills Coaches, helping adult learners stay engaged, achieve their qualifications and progress in work. You’ll be responsible for delivery quality, learner outcomes and meeting the distinct funding and performance requirements of each contract.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Skills Coaches, managing caseloads and planning effective learner contact, teaching and assessment.
- Monitor enrolments, attendance, retention, progress, achievement and timely completions against organisational and contract targets.
- Identify learners at risk of falling behind or withdrawing, and put clear intervention plans in place.
- Use performance data to forecast completions, identify risks early and drive improvement.
- Ensure eligibility checks, learner records and delivery evidence meet funding, audit and contracting authority requirements.
- Work with Quality, Compliance and Business Development colleagues to improve the learner experience and respond to employer and local skills needs.
- Support the Operations Director with contracting authority meetings, delivery updates and follow-up actions.
- Promote high standards of teaching, assessment, safeguarding and inclusion.

About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience managing and developing a team delivering adult learning programmes.
- Experience working in post-16 education and managing performance against funding contract requirements, KPIs and learner outcomes.
- Sound knowledge of adult learning qualifications, funding rules and evidence requirements.
- The ability to analyse data, use Excel confidently and turn findings into practical action.
- Strong communication, coaching and report-writing skills.
- An understanding of Ofsted expectations, safeguarding and inclusive learning.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
Relevant teaching, assessing, management or internal quality assurance qualifications would be desirable.
