Adult Litigation Lawyer | London Borough of Redbridge
£52,194 - £55,323 | Hybrid working
An opportunity has arisen for an Adult Litigation Lawyer to join the established Legal team at the London Borough of Redbridge.
This is a role for a lawyer who wants to work on high-quality, complex adult social care matters within an experienced team, with the opportunity to advise senior clients and have a genuine impact on the work of the Council.
You will report to the Principal Lawyer for Social Care and handle a varied caseload covering areas including:
- Adult Social Care matters under the Care Act 2014
- Court of Protection work
- Mental Health Act matters
- Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications
- Judicial review challenges
- Providing clear, practical legal advice to senior officers and departmental clients

About you
The Council is open to lawyers from a range of backgrounds. You may already be working within a local authority, or you could be coming from private practice with strong experience in adult social care, community care, Court of Protection or related public law work. You will need:
- A relevant professional qualification, such as Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX
- Strong knowledge and experience of adult social care legislation and practice
- Good understanding of local government and public sector law affecting social care
- Experience handling a complex caseload and providing high-quality legal advice

Location
