Finance Team Lead - Adult Social Care
We are looking to recruit a Finance Team Lead within Adult Social Care. The post holder will be responsible for managing 9 staff (Financial Assessments and Benefits Coordinators).
Responsibilities
- Managing staff and ensuring billing clients for care and support services arranged by the Council (Residential and Non-Residential services).
- Completing financial assessment reviews for clients in permanent residential care in accordance with The Care Act 2014.
- Operating a dedicated customer helpline for clients and their families, providing expert advice about care charges and account-related queries.
Requirements
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel to ensure accurate billing and identifying discrepancies using data analysis within the billing runs.
- Excellent communication skills to deal with complex queries regarding charging and assessments in line with The Care Act 2014.
- Access to DWP systems under strict guidelines.
- Motivated to lead the team, ensuring processes are followed consistently and within set key performance indicators set by the department.
- Collaborative work with other Finance Leads, Managers, and other teams within the Council.

Role Requirements
- High standard of Maths and English.
- Ability to work at a fast pace.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Valid UK Driving Licence with access to a car for work purposes.
Location
The post is based at County Hall, Morpeth.
Travel
The role may require travelling to other Council offices, meeting clients and/or their financial representatives at their home, or at a Council site.
