Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Voice, Stammering and Upper Airway Disorders Team. We know that these jobs don't come up very often and are happy to consider a developing Band 5/6 post if this is the area you would like to work in.
You will work in a small, friendly specialist team which is part of the Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service. We are a motivated and innovative team who are keen to offer the best possible service to our clients. You will be supported by the Clinical Lead for the service and Clinical Specialist in Upper Airway Disorders. The role will involve a varied caseload working with Dysphonia, Upper Airway Disorders (Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction and Cough Hypersensitivity Syndrome) and Stammering, in the community outpatient setting. Training and support will be provided to develop these skills, alongside regular clinical supervision and opportunities to work alongside colleagues and other members of the wider team.
Therapy is provided in clinics across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Regular meetings and team CPD sessions take place to ensure team members have the opportunity to meet together, develop the service and learn from each other.
The wider Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service is a friendly supportive team. It is county-wide with good links with our acute hospital colleagues and supported by a dedicated administration team to provide a high-quality service to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We have around 30 clinical staff from Bands 4 to 8a. Our priority is on patient centred, holistic care and we understand the importance of supporting staff to develop their skills and interests.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)
- To provide assessment and therapy for adults with Voice Disorders, Upper Airway Disorders and Stammering.
- To liaise with other professionals involved in patient's care as appropriate.
- To continue to develop your knowledge and skills, a process which we prioritise through a commitment to CPD in both internal and external training with protected time for CPD / professional reflection / mandatory training. Your development is supported by your annual appraisal and regular clinical and managerial supervision.
- To work both independently and as part of a team, being part of regular team meetings and contributing to the excellent support network which underpins our Service.
- To be involved with service / quality improvement projects / research to develop different ways of working to enhance the care we provide.
