Position: Adult Learning Tutor (Multiple Subjects)

Location: Lincoln based with community based delivery across the county
Hours: Permanent, Part-Time
Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience

Pelican Trust is a charity committed to empowering adults to achieve their full potential through high-quality, inclusive education and support. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Adult Learning Tutor to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping adults, including those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LLDD), to develop the skills, confidence and independence they need to achieve their personal, educational and employment goals.

About the Role

As an Adult Learning Tutor, you will plan and deliver engaging learning programmes across a range of subjects to adults with diverse learning needs. You will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that enables every learner to succeed.
You will assess learner progress, adapt teaching to meet individual needs, maintain accurate records and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning sessions across a variety of subjects.
  • Support adults with a wide range of learning needs, including learners with LLDD.
  • Differentiate teaching to ensure learning is accessible and inclusive.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop Individual Learning Plans and monitor learner achievement.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and documentation.
  • Promote learner wellbeing, safeguarding and positive behaviour.
  • Embed English, maths, digital skills and employability into the training sessions
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Participate in internal observations, quality assurance activities and continuous professional development.
  • Assess situations quickly and respond with creative solutions
  • Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of delivery.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Essential

  • A recognised teaching qualification (Level 3 Award or Cert Ed)
  • Experience teaching adults across multiple subject areas.
  • Experience supporting adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LLDD).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • IPS (individual placement support) employment specialist experience
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners with differing abilities.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusive practice.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of adult education funding requirements.
  • Experience of working within the charity, further education or community learning sector.
  • Current first aid qualification.
