Hackney is looking for a senior leader who can do more than run a major service.

We need someone who can bring Adult Social Care and Integrated Health closer to the heart of the council, strengthen its place across the health and care system and focus the organisation on better outcomes for residents.

As our statutory Executive Director of Adult Social Services and Integrated Health

  • You will lead Adults, Commissioning, Integrated Learning and our work with health partners.
  • As a key member of the council’s executive leadership team, you will help steer corporate priorities and share accountability for Hackney’s overall success.

The mandate is clear.

We want to move from “Requires Improvement” to “Good” when CQC returns. This involves:

  • Modernising point-of-entry access
  • Minimising assessment delays
  • Ensuring individuals obtain appropriate support when needed
  • Reshaping commissioning
  • Strengthening performance
  • Delivering significant savings without losing sight of quality, prevention or people’s independence

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will not do this from inside a service silo.

Strong partnerships with Homerton Healthcare, the North East London ICB and other system partners will be central to the role in delivering successful outcomes to our residents. You will work closely with the Executive Director of Children’s Services, particularly around transition, and the council’s finance leadership as we make difficult choices and build a sustainable service.

Hackney’s new administration has put equality and equity firmly at the centre of its ambitions.

You will turn that commitment into practice: in how services are designed, how decisions are made and how the directorate develops a leadership team that better reflects the borough it serves.

We are open-minded about where you have built your experience.

You will need a strong record of leading Adult Social Care and Public Health at scale, sound professional judgement and the credibility to fulfil the statutory DASS role. Just as important will be your ability to connect: with residents, elected members, staff, partners and colleagues across the council.

You will be a visible and collaborative corporate leader.

You will set clear standards, face difficult issues early and create the conditions in which people can perform at their best, leading from the front and upholding the council’s values. You will combine strong operational grip with humanity, understanding that lasting improvement is built with people, not done to them.

This is a demanding role with a substantial agenda.

It is also a chance to shape the future of care in one of London’s most distinctive boroughs, supported by a Chief Executive and political leadership who are clear about the change they want to see. If you believe Adult Social Care should be central to how a council improves lives and you can bring a system together behind that purpose, we would like to hear from you.
