Exciting Opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmaceutical Scientist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and proactive Pharmacy Technician or Pharmaceutical Scientist to join our growing and forward-thinking department as a Pharmacy Technician/Pharmacy Scientist for Aseptic Services. You will be involved in the effective and safe delivery of the Pharmacy Aseptic Service including supervision of the day-to-day workload and training of staff. You will ensure that staff undertake activities following departmental operating procedures and work in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Clinical Practice, and Good Distribution Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in staff training
  • Aseptic manufacture of products
  • Checking activities
  • Generating worksheets and labels using the Pharmacy computer system
  • Assisting the Aseptic Services Managers in the development of new services for the Trust
  • Advising the Senior Aseptic Technicians on amending work practices and documentation to improve the running of the service
  • Maintaining equipment according to procedures and actively encouraging adherence to all procedures relating to the aseptic services department and GMP
  • Quality assurance activities

About Us

Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence of significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Pilgrim Hospital is situated in beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

Application

We welcome applications from Pharmacy Technicians and other Scientists such as Pharmaceutical Scientists eligible for membership registration with a relevant body. We will provide you with a comprehensive induction and training covering all aspects of the work, support from senior pharmacy staff, and an environment to develop further.

The successful candidate will have the chance to develop and extend their technical, aseptic, and managerial skills. We encourage and support specialist and postgraduate aseptic services training in addition to Leadership & Management training.
