Job Description
Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: March 1, 2027
Work set up: 100% onsite, 5 days per week in office
Clearance required: BPSS + Client's vetting process
Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Advanced Blue Prism Developer to design, develop, and implement complex robotic process automation (RPA) solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Blue Prism's capabilities, best practices, and advanced features. This role requires the ability to translate intricate business requirements into efficient and robust automation processes, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior team members.
This role requires additional vetting, which means the onboarding process may take longer than usual. Candidates will be required to complete additional client vetting as part of the onboarding process.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy advanced Blue Prism automations for complex business processes.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for RPA solutions.
- Apply advanced Blue Prism design principles and best practices to create scalable, maintainable, and efficient automation solutions.
- Develop and implement reusable objects and libraries within Blue Prism.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Blue Prism automations.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
- Optimize existing automations for performance and efficiency.
- Stay up to date with the latest Blue Prism features, functionalities, and industry trends.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of RPA development standards and processes.
- Participate in solution design sessions and provide technical expertise.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and changes through ServiceNow or other ITIL-aligned service management platforms.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance where required.
- Provide on-call support for P1/P2 incidents as part of the shared support team.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Blue Prism, including sophisticated automations, advanced object-oriented design principles, exception handling strategies, and audit logging.
- Proven ability to design and architect robust, scalable, and maintainable RPA solutions.
- Strong understanding of process mapping, requirements gathering, and technical design documentation.
- Solid knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in Blue Prism development.
- Expertise in designing and implementing comprehensive exception handling and error management mechanisms.
- Advanced debugging and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues within Blue Prism processes.
- Experience integrating Blue Prism with various applications, APIs, and databases.
- Familiarity with version control systems for managing Blue Prism process assets.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to handle complex requirements and think critically and creatively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Blue Prism Professional Developer Certification is preferred.
- Experience with advanced Blue Prism features such as Decision, Swarm, and Work Queues is preferred.
- Knowledge of other RPA tools and technologies is advantageous.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for RPA is preferred.
- Experience using scripting languages such as VBScript or Python for advanced automation needs is advantageous.
- Previous experience mentoring or leading a team of RPA developers is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while providing guidance to junior colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Availability to work onsite in Manchester or Inverness five working days per week.
- Flexibility to work within service hours of 07:00 to 19:00, with the team operating separate shifts to provide coverage.
- Willingness to participate in shared on-call support for P1/P2 incidents.
