An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer to join the Cardiology Diagnostics team at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post holder will be an independent, accredited echocardiographer, delivering a wide range of routine, complex and specialist echocardiography investigations across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will play a key role in supporting safe, timely diagnosis and ongoing management of patients with cardiac disease, working closely with consultant cardiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team.

The Trust actively promotes the provision of 7-day diagnostic services, and the post holder will be expected to work weekends as part of their normal working shift pattern.

In addition to delivering high-quality clinical activity, the role includes supporting service delivery, supervising and training junior staff, contributing to service development, and deputising for senior colleagues within the echocardiography service when required. All work will be undertaken in line with professional standards, Trust policies and governance requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
