The Opportunity
We are exclusively representing a highly respected fire safety consultancy that is looking to appoint an Advanced Level Fire Risk Assessor with current Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) accreditation.
This is a senior, technically demanding role for a proven fire safety professional who operates with authority, precision and a deep understanding of UK fire safety legislation. Our client is seeking an individual who can act as a subject matter expert, delivering complex fire risk assessments across a varied and often challenging portfolio of premises.
If you are IFSM accredited, technically exceptional and looking to join an organisation that genuinely values professional excellence, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
The Role
Reporting to Head of Fire Safety you will be responsible for undertaking, reviewing and validating advanced fire risk assessments, providing strategic advice to clients and ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, British Standards and industry best practice.
You will work across a range of environments, potentially including high-rise residential buildings, commercial premises, healthcare facilities, educational establishments and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at a senior level and will be expected to uphold the professional standards and code of conduct of the IFSM at all times.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
