Advanced MSK Physiotherapist with an interest in upper limb conditions: Part time (22.5 hours)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and self-motivated Band 7 Physiotherapist with a special interest in upper limb conditions to join the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy service based at Kingsgate House in the centre of Stockport.

About the Role

The service is a busy and forward thinking provider of Adult Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy across multiple clinic sites in Stockport, receiving referrals for acute and chronic conditions from GPs, ESPs and Pain clinic. We have strong links with the acute Trust site and the Orthopaedic Assessment Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide an advanced specialist Physiotherapy service for patients referred with upper limb conditions
  • Perform advanced assessments of patients with musculo-skeletal conditions, providing an accurate diagnosis and managing a defined caseload of patients with highly complex needs
  • Use evidence-based/patient-centred principles in a variety of locations, maintaining associated records
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership in your specialist area through clinical supervision, in-service training and mentoring, supporting the team to promote an efficient and effective service
  • Supervise, educate and assess the performance of students to a graduate standard and work with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification

Key Requirements

  • Enthusiastic, motivated person with experience in treating a wide variety of Musculoskeletal Conditions within a diverse population
  • Ability to promote self-management and act as an expert in their field providing support to other members of the team
  • Experience in implementing appropriate clinical guidelines and patient pathways
