Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a friendly, supportive and forward-thinking GP practice?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our experienced clinical team. Applications are welcome from:

  • Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) who hold a V300
  • Experienced Practice Nurses
  • Registered Nurses interested in training to become a Practice Nurse (Trainee Practice Nurse)

We are committed to finding the right person and will consider both full-time and part-time working arrangements.

About Us

Heilendi Practice is a well-established and friendly GP practice serving approximately 4,000 patients in the heart of Orkney. Our team consists of:

  • 7 GPs
  • 2 Practice Nurses
  • 1 Healthcare Support Worker
  • An experienced and valued administrative team

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining a supportive and collaborative working environment.

The Role

Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience

Hours: Full-time or part-time hours considered for the right candidate

Responsibilities: Depending on experience and qualifications, responsibilities may include:

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

  • Assessment, diagnosis and management of acute presentations
  • Independent prescribing
  • Minor illness clinics
  • Triage support
  • Chronic disease management

Practice Nurse

  • Chronic disease management
  • Cervical screening
  • Wound care and dressings
  • Health promotion and preventative care

Trainee Practice Nurse

  • Structured support and development programme
  • Training in core practice nursing skills
  • Opportunities to develop expertise in chronic disease management and health promotion
  • Mentorship from our experienced nursing team
