The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for x 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) to join our established, friendly and supportive Cardiology Ambulatory Care team based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
As a Cardiology ANP, you will play a vital role in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of patients presenting with a range of acute and chronic cardiac conditions. This will include independent clinical decision-making, advanced assessment, investigation interpretation, prescribing, and the development of management plans to ensure high-quality patient-centred care.
You will work autonomously within your scope of practice whilst collaborating closely with the wider multidisciplinary cardiology team to deliver safe, effective and timely care within the ambulatory setting. The successful candidate will utilise advanced clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills to support patient flow, avoid unnecessary admissions where appropriate, and enhance the patient experience.
We are seeking an individual who is flexible, forward-thinking, hardworking and professional. The ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively and demonstrate excellent organisational skills is essential. You must be able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team environment.
It is essential that you are a Registered General Nurse on the NMC register. Applicants should have completed, or be working towards, a Master's level qualification in Advanced Practice. The successful candidate would ideally be a suitably qualified ANP with extensive experience.
Consideration may be given to experienced RNs who demonstrate the ability, commitment and willingness to undertake the ANP training pathway. Applicants for an ANP training post must have substantial post registration experience at band 6 level in a cardiology/ acute care environment. Band 7 annexe 21 terms and conditions would apply for the duration of training. The shift pattern for this post is 4/5 days per week, Monday to Friday.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
There are 2x permanent, full-time posts available at 36 hours per week.
The roles are based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, PA2 9PN.
The shift pattern is 4/5 days per week, Monday to Friday.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
The post holder will be an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner within cardiology, with specialist knowledge and competence gained through education, clinical training and relevant post-registration experience.
- Registered Nurse qualification with current NMC registration.
- Postgraduate or post-registration qualification in a cardiology-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced clinical practice education, including relevant Master’s-level study such as a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice.
- Nurse independent prescribing qualification.
- Significant post-registration cardiology experience, including senior-level experience within an acute clinical environment.
- Demonstrable competence in cardiology assessment, clinical decision-making and relevant interventions.
- Evidence of continuing professional development, lifelong learning and the ability to keep relevant knowledge and skills updated and documented.
- Evidence of management, leadership or service-development education or training.
- Excellent team-working skills, with the ability to work independently, use initiative and contribute effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
- Effective problem-solving, communication and IT skill.
