The Role
Autonomous advanced practitioner, undertaking advanced assessment, diagnostics and highly specialist treatment to ensure a high standard of clinical intervention. Professionally accountable for the clinical leadership, supervision and practice education of Occupational Therapy staff and students working within the clinical specialty. Lead the development and delivery of occupational therapy services across the clinical specialty, care group or NHSL wide service. Applies evidence informed practice through clinical audit, research and service improvement applicable to the specialist area of work.

In This Key Role, You Will
Within NHS Lanarkshire, the department delivers Occupational Therapy services across the whole population (approx. 644,000) including acute, community and primary care services. It is structured into care groups as outlined within the section 4 (Organisational Chart). It is a hosted service and is operationally accountable to the Head of Health and Social Care and professionally accountable to the AHP director.
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Occupational Therapy with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant specialty, or evidence of working towards Master's level qualification
- Evidence of working at Level 7 Advanced Practitioner of the NMAHP Development Framework
- A range of postgraduate education and short specialist courses relevant to the specialty.
- Highly specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the clinical specialty.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
