An exciting opportunity for an Advanced Paediatric Dietitian
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Advanced Paediatric Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Service in University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Royal Lancaster Hospital with a requirement to travel to support our cross bay dietetic team.

Key Requirements
- Clinical evidence-based knowledge of paediatric dietetics, alongside a passion and commitment to leadership and management, service development, and facilitation of learning and practitioner wellbeing is fundamental.
- Compassionate communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and implementation of innovative solutions within an evolving dietetics landscape.
- Ensures a responsive, needs-based approach to holistic patient-centred care.
- The service is aligned to and contributes to a range of regional networks in the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB.

Responsibilities
You will have:
- Responsibility for managing a complex caseload covering a wide range of clinical areas including nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, food allergies, and feeding problems for infants, children, and young people.
- Cover both inpatient and outpatient work.
- Work closely with the entire paediatric MDT, including consultants, specialist nurses, ward and support staff, as well as health visitors, children’s community nurses, and speech and language therapists.

Qualifications
- Applicants must be HCPC registered dietitians.
About Our Locations
We operate from three main hospitals:
- Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow
- Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI)
- Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal
As well as a number of community healthcare premises including:
- Millom Hospital and GP Practice
- Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe
- Ulverston Community Health Centre

Probationary Period
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6-month probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
