About the Role
The Mental Health Pharmacy Team has recently undergone a pharmacy service restructure, creating a number of exciting opportunities for service development and innovation. This role includes newly secured funding to support the delivery of pharmacy services to our Adolescent Mental Health Unit and Community Mental Health Teams.
The successful applicant will play a key role in shaping and developing these new services, demonstrating their value, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of patient care across mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering a specialised clinical pharmacy service to promote and facilitate the safe, rational and cost-effective use of medicines within the Mental Health Care Group.
- Delivering clinical care directly to patients within specialist therapeutic areas, and to mentor and train post foundation, trainee and other pharmacists in this area of speciality.
- Providing specialist clinical pharmacy advice at directorate, directorate speciality and other specialist meetings, developing policies and protocols with current evidence and best practices.
- Undertaking patient consultations and prescribe where appropriate.
- Providing clinical pharmacy services within the Outpatient Mental Health team including in Adult Community Mental Health Teams.
- Development, audit, monitoring and provision of clinical pharmacy services and directorate support services to the mental health directorate.
- Taking lead responsibility for the development and delivery of practice research within the area of specialism.
