Advanced Pharmacist - Women and Children
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated individual to join our clinical pharmacy team as an Advanced Pharmacist - Women and Children. This is a fixed term 12-month post to cover maternity leave.
Role Overview
You will provide a clinical pharmacy service to our women's and children's wards. Therefore, significant recent and relevant experience of providing a clinical pharmacy service to paediatrics is expected.
Responsibilities
- Provide directorate support to the women and children directorate within the Family and Specialist Services division.
- Be encouraged to come up with innovative ideas to improve the clinical service alongside increased medicines efficiency savings.
- Require excellent communication and leadership skills, and be comfortable collaborating with clinicians, managers, nurses, and others to ensure that pharmaceutical care of ill patients with a range of clinical conditions is safe and optimized.
- Be involved in training and teaching junior members of the pharmacy team alongside the wider MDT.
- Be involved in the sickness management, appraisal, and general line management responsibilities of our team of rotational band 7 staff.

Requirements
- Registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Successfully completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice or be able to demonstrate equivalent and transferrable experience.
- A registered non-medical prescriber.
- Knowledge of therapeutics and medicine use.
- Experience of audit, risk management, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of staff.

CHFT is a digitally advanced hospital trust - we use Cerner Millenium Electronic Patient Record which includes electronic prescribing and administration. We have recently installed a pharmacy dispensing robot at our Calderdale site and are a trailblazing site with the introduction of electronic controlled drug registers (eCDR) which has lead to nomination for a HSJ award.
