Job Title
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and appropriately qualified Advanced Practice Radiographer to join a progressive, friendly team. We are a combined breast unit providing both breast screening and symptomatic services, whilst also benefiting from close links to the University of Dundee Breast Research team. We are a fully digital department with 3 static rooms, two mobile screening units and two ultrasound rooms. We also use Digital Breast Tomosynthesis and Contrast Enhanced Mammography (CEM).
About the Role
The successful candidate will hold a Pg Cert or equivalent in mammography. You must be HCPC registered with significant post-qualification mammography experience. We are seeking someone who is already fully trained in mammography stereotactic procedures. You will undertake interventional x-ray guided vacuum/core biopsy +/- vacuum excision procedures under indirect supervision. As well as advanced clinical practice as described above, you will be expected to take on a defined package of managerial work and still maintain your mammography knowledge and skills. You may be required to work on a mobile breast screening unit and should therefore be able to travel to various locations throughout Tayside and North East Fife.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
