NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.
The Role
The post holder will act as an autonomous clinical specialist, managing a caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
They will lead service development by improving access pathways, promoting health and self-management, and providing specialist support and education to physiotherapists, healthcare professionals, patients, relatives, and carers.
Working collaboratively with health and social care services, the post holder will optimise patient outcomes while maintaining high standards of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance.
They will also support research, audit, and service improvement initiatives in line with national policies and clinical governance requirements.
The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday during the hours of 9-5 pm.

In this key role, you will:
- Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of the own professional activities.
- In conjunction with the care group lead, continually develop the specialist physiotherapy service in line with Divisional and National strategic direction, incorporating patient/public involvement.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the identified specialist service.
- Facilitate increased awareness of evidence-based practice within the service and assist the organisation and development of specialist postgraduate education/training of physiotherapists and other health care professionals working within the clinical specialty and other physiotherapy services.
What You'll Bring:
- Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
- Post graduate expertise within specialty / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
