Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner – Shoulder And Elbow

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced clinician with a passion for shoulder and elbow assessment and rehabilitation to work alongside our Consultant Upper Limb Therapist and deliver high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will work within our team of shoulder and elbow clinicians to provide clinical expertise within Aintree Physiotherapy, cross-site MSK Triage Clinics (MCAS) and Broadgreen elective consultant-led clinics. They will lead service development and support clinical education, supervision, leadership, research and audit in line with the Advanced Practice framework. Working within a large university foundation trust offers the opportunity to shape services and influence change locally, regionally and nationally.

An Annex 21 training post may be available for candidates without an Advanced Practice MSc. The post would support part-time study at Manchester Met University, with funding secured, at 0.8 WTE (30 hours). On completion of the MSc and capability assessment, the contract would move to 0.6 WTE Band 8a.

Main Duties Of The Job

  • Clinical lead for Shoulder and Elbow MCAS (Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment Service) primarily based at Aintree but offering cover at other sites
  • Electronic Musculoskeletal Triage
  • Expert physiotherapy assessment supporting the MDT
  • Undertake complex patient problem solving reviews in physiotherapy department
  • Manage a caseload of complex Shoulder and Elbow physiotherapy patients
  • To order and oversee Shoulder and Elbow investigations within physiotherapy departments
  • Lead Shoulder and Elbow service development including audit and research activity
  • Shoulder and Elbow clinical education
  • Development of evidence-based pathways for Shoulder and Elbow conditions
