Walsall Council, Advanced Practitioner (Occupational Therapist) - Ref: SS04926

G10: £48,738 - 51,928 per annum.

Are you an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years post qualification experience working in a social care, learning disabilities, mental health, younger adults or children’s setting? If so, then this could be the post for you!

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our expanding OT workforce within Adult Social Care. We are specifically looking for an experienced OT to support our OT workforce across the Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Younger Adults Teams.

About The Job

The Younger Adults Team provides OT intervention for younger adults aged 18 to 25, as well as for older children who are transitioning from Children’s to Adult Services.

As Advanced Practitioner, you will have direct line management responsibility for the OTs within the Younger Adults Team, including prioritisation and allocation of work.

The Younger Adults Team also receives all referrals for children’s OT assessments, and as such you will work in collaboration with Advanced Practitioners from the Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Teams to allocate children’s work across all 3 teams.

You will provide professional support to OTs within the Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Teams in relation to both children’s and adults case work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
