Job Introduction

We are recruiting to the role of Advanced Practitioner Social Work to work in one of our Adults with Disabilities Locality Teams.

You will be an experienced social worker who has taken on supervisory roles and deputy management. You will support the Team Manager Adults with Disabilities to plan and coordinate the work of the team. You will have a detailed knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation. From a values perspective, you will have a strong commitment to human rights at the heart of social work practice and will know and understand the importance of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. You will not want to make any decision without the person you are there to support being in control and being enabled to fully participate. Your creativity, positive attitude and values will make you stand out.

The Main Responsibilities Of This Role

  • Supporting the Management Team across Adults Services in delivering a high quality Social Work to Adults and their families. To assist the team manager in the support and development of the Adults with Disabilities team and the wider service.
  • Mentor and support new social workers, including support and supervision responsibilities to newly qualified social workers undertaking the ASYE, to support their learning, seek out opportunities for their development and coaching as required.
  • Contribute to practice development, including undertaking activity that links to the Adults Services performance framework and practice model.
  • Operating within departmental policy, practice and procedures in particular in relation to digital innovation.
