We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join our welcoming and supportive Mansfield Community Social Work Team.

About The Role

As a senior practitioner within the team, you will provide professional leadership, guidance, and support to colleagues while maintaining a reduced caseload of complex and specialist work.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading and promoting excellent, evidence-based social work practice.
  • Supporting staff through reflective supervision, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Championing strengths-based, person-centred approaches that maximize independence and wellbeing.
  • Providing expertise in safeguarding, risk enablement, the Mental Capacity Act, and the Mental Health Act.
  • Supporting the allocation and management of work across the team.
  • Undertaking complex assessments and coordinating appropriate support plans.
  • Chairing multi-agency meetings and contributing to decision-making processes.
  • Acting as a professional lead in key areas of practice.
  • Supporting service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Undertaking the role of Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) or Best Interests Assessor (BIA), where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a recognised Social Work qualification and is registered with Social Work England.
  • Is an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), Best Interests Assessor (BIA), Practice Educator, or has completed relevant postgraduate study.
  • Has significant experience of working within Adult Social Care, including complex casework and safeguarding.
  • Has a sound knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
  • Has experience of supervising, mentoring, and supporting staff development.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Is passionate about delivering strengths-based, person-centred practice.
  • Thrives in partnership and multi-disciplinary working environments.
  • Is committed to continuous professional development and service excellence.
